DJ ATOMIKA'S GUIDE TO THE BURNOUT PARADISE DEMO

Welcome to Paradise City, the home of Burnout driving. I'm DJ Atomika, here to be your guide to everything the city has to offer. So where do you start? Well, there might be just a small part of Paradise City open to you in the demo, but believe me, there is plenty to do!

We've got three different events and loads of collectibles for you to find when you start. Then, if you head online, you can compete for 'Today's Best' or work cooperatively with other drivers in some Freeburn Challenges. Let me elaborate a little...

To start one of the three events just pull up at the traffic lights, then hold the brake and hit the gas.

A block or so south west of the Junkyard is a race. There you'll be competing against 7 other drivers and you'll need to be the first one to the Country Club to get the win. So if other drivers are getting in your way, be sure to take them down by slamming them into another vehicle or nearby wall!

The Country Club is also the destination for the Burning Route, the junction for which lies in the most south-easterly corner of your map. Here it's just you against the clock, so mind the traffic and try to keep your speed up to get there before the timer runs out.

Finally we've included a Stunt Run for to try which can be found a couple of blocks south of the Country Club. This event is all about pulling off stunts so you can earn points, and for bigger stunts you'll be rewarded with multipliers that send your collected points soaring in value. If you boost between the big stunts you'll be able to keep your current combo going and score even higher.

So, to score big in Stunt Run you'll want to know where all the collectibles are to be found and these form a whole level of exploration within Paradise City. In the demo area there are 15 Burnout Billboards to smash and 6 Super Jumps to land, both of which will earn you multipliers in Stunt Run. There are also 34 Smash Gates to sail through where you'll discover hidden areas and shortcuts that make getting around quicker. Can you find them all? Go explore.

If at any point in an event you want to try something else, simply pull over for a few seconds and you'll be back in Freeburn.

Up next is getting online in Burnout, which has never been easier. Simply press right on the D-Pad to open your EasyDrive menu. From there you can host a game and invite friends to join, or find others to Freeburn with. It's such a seamless process that you may wonder what happened to the lobby - well, there is no lobby other than Paradise City itself. In the top right of your screen is 'Today's Best'. This tracks your performance in 8 key areas against that of everyone else in your game. Get some big air, lots of near misses or serious drift to beat other players and dominate 'Today's Best'.

If you're the host of the game, by selecting right on the D-Pad you'll be able to activate some Freeburn Challenges; three have been included for you to try in each game size (2-, 3-, 4-players). Just read what the ticker at the bottom of your screen says then use the top right of your screen to track your's and everyone else's progress towards the goals.

That's all the official stuff that has been included for you in the Burnout Paradise Demo. Beyond this I would recommend checking out the Paradise News which gets updated twice a week with all my thoughts on the game and with mini challenges for you to try out.
