Hey, Criterion!
First off, I wanna say just what an excellent job you have done on the Burnout series. I've been playing since Point of Impact, which is the primary reason I got my good 'ol PS2.
To the point... I saw a feature somewhere about a sequel for Revenge, which is to be called Dominator. From what I read, you gain the upper hand by doing Multiple Burnouts (last seen in Point of Impact).
So I guess, for this game, you're returning to the "Classic" style of boost where you fill the meter up by performing Near Misses, Drifts etc. and then you have to blow all your boost at once.
Awesome!!!
From Ethan D (age 12), a loving and admiring fan (that was one helluva understatement).
PS: Kudos on having the Burnout 2 theme implemented into Revenge (I don't know where... I don't get my copy till Christmas). I saw an article that said you wanted to make it more like Burnout games past... I guess you really did!
Dear Ethan,
Thanks for mailing us.
So the new game for PS2 and PSP is called Burnout Dominator. It is NOT a sequel to Revenge, but rather a new and unique Burnout game.
We don't view the new games we do as strict sequels like other teams do. We instead like to do new stuff and create new gameplay. So, Dominator is a brand new experience.
I am sure all of the many Burnout 2 fans out there will enjoy this game. But, I can confirm that boost chaining in the B2 style WILL return in both Dominator and Burnout Five.

PLATFORM PLEA
Yes!!!! Yes!!!!! YESSSS!!!!!!!
That's my reaction to Burnout Dominator. Sadly it's not coming to Xbox, my native platform. But I will buy a Sony console to play this game.
Will it work with the PS3 and PS2? Now tell me please can we play this online using a PS3? You HAVE TO fight for this feature. We just want full voice features and online leaderboards. PLEEAASE.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Chris
Dear Chris,
Burnout Dominator is not in development for Xbox 1. Sorry to disappoint you.
We expect the PS2 game will RUN on a PS3 via backwards compatibility.
However, PS2 gamers and PS3 gamers will not connect together as they are totally different games.

A BIT OFF-TRACK
Hello,
I have heard from several retailers and one game information site that there will be a PS2 version of Burnout Five. I hope this is the case b/c I love the Burnout series, and I cannot afford a PS3 or a 360.
Walter Legge
Dear Walter,
The retailers and game information site you have looked at it are wrong I'm afraid.
There is NOT a PS2 version of Burnout Five. This game is ONLY in development for PS3 and 360. However, there is also a NEW Burnout game for PS2 and PSP called Burnout Dominator. Totally different game though.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
I recently bought an Xbox 360 and Burnout Revenge. How do you boost at the beginning of an online (XBox Live) race? Everyone else seems to know but they won't say...
Thanks!
David
Dear David,
Sorry to hear you cannot boost start on Revenge. It's not exactly a closely guarded secret. I could tell you, but then other members of the team would probably use a Crashbreaker in my vicinity!
Try holding down the brake whilst revving on the start line and practice letting go at the exact moment of starting.

BEGGING FOR BLACK
I wanted to extend my most sincere gratitude to all the talented staff members involved in the production of BLACK. It is definitely a home run or knock out punch with me!
I just wanted to write and let you know how much I enjoyed playing every moment of this wonderful, epic action/adventure game. The commercials never let on how immersing and addictive this game is.
Everything was top-notchthe design, music, A.I. strategy, suspense and most importantly the graphics! I've never played a game on PS2 that looked so life-like.
While I've read several complaints about the length of the game and no online gameplay, neither bothered me one bit. Black caused me to lose countless hours of sleep and kept me thoroughly entertained!
Just so you know, I've completed the game 3 times and still continue to enjoy it.
I've read a few message boards that suggest there may be a second installment for the PS3 in the works. A BLACK sequel would make me purchase a PS3, not the other way around. Please MAKE A SEQUEL, PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEE!!!
To illustrate how good BLACK is, I purchased Socom #3 the same week, played it for 5 min, got very bored with its slow pace, shoddy graphics and stupid A.I., then tossed it in the circular file (trash)! At one point I thought that Metal Gear Solid was the best game I've ever played, BUT that was before I played BLACK. Metal Gear's silly gimmicks and convoluted storyline muddle the gameplay. I popped in Killzone after playing BLACK. What a big mistake!! Killzone's slow, choppy graphics and stupid A.I. only served to make me appreciate BLACK a thousand times more!!
Good Job Team, you deserve all the accolades! Encore, Encore, the people want more!!
PS: I'm a 42 year old African American male and former Wall Street Executive, who still appreciates video games.
Weldon Williams
Dear Weldon,
Thanks for writing in to us. The team really appreciated reading your comments. Glad you enjoyed the game. We certainly enjoyed making it.

A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLACK
I was just wondering if/when you guys are going to put out a new BLACK (BLACK 2)?
I am a huge fan of the game and my wife wants to kill you all for designing something that takes my attention off of her for at least an hour or two a day (sometimes more, a lot more).
I also wanted you to know that my Father, age 62, has went out and bought a new PS2 and the only game he bought was BLACK! He told me until he finishes every level at every level there is no need to buy another game.
Talk to you later,
Eric
Dear Eric,
Thanks for mailing us. The answer iswe don't know. The BLACK Team are mostly helping out the Burnout Team right now, working on Burnout Five.
Glad to hear your Father is playing the game, although you must inform him of an exciting racing game out there for PS2 called Burnout.
