AUTOLOG
Autolog is a suite of connected features that allows you to connect, compare andcompete with your friends playing Burnout CRASH! Autolog tracks everything that you do, automatically compares it with your friends and broadcasts the results of these comparisons directly into your game.
For each event you will see a CrashWalll, this is essentially a leaderboard for that event showing you how you are doing against your friends. Autolog will track and display your times, the vehicle you used and the number of attempts that you've made on each event. Autolog will also deliver the latest news to you based on what your friends have been playing..
Autolog Recommends events toplay based on what your friends have been playing. In simple terms if a friendbeats you on an event, Autolog will generate a recommendation for you. We thinkthat social competition is incredibly powerful and so we've built it throughthe heart of the game. Autolog automatically tracks your performances in thegame and is constantly comparing your play against your friends. When highprioirty comparisons are made they are then broadcast into your game giving youa nudge to compete. You can see Recommendations in Autolog Recommends as wellas throughout your play selection from the Road Trip map. Autolog Alerts willhelp keep you informed. If you have a short amount of time to play, you cansimply head to Autolog Recommends to play against your friends even when theyare not online.
This is dependent on network conditions between your game and Autolog as well as the demand being placed on Autolog from other gamers. In fair conditions we expect it to update inside 30 seconds, however, in some instances may have to be patient and wait a few minutes for Autolog to update with the latest data.
If, for any reason, you lose connection to Autolog, your game performances are still recorded on your console. When you then re-connect to Autolog the system will collect updated times and stats to make sure that you haven't lost anything.
If you need to set up a new account or are having difficulties remembering your details head over to http://profile.ea.com.
Autolog generates Friends suggestions for a network of players based on mutual Friends of Friends. If you don't want Autolog to utilise your network to generate these suggestions you can turn the feature off. To do so, go to HELP AND OPTIONS - SETTINGS - EA ACCOUNT SETTINGS - and uncheck the option.
We think that mutual friends are more important than strangers so Autolog will suggest Friends of Friends to you. To see these friend suggestions head to AUTOLOG RECOMMENDS and select the MAKE FRIENDS tab. Here you can 'Tell Friends' that you are playing the game and they should to, or you can 'Make Friends' by sending Friend Requests to players that Autolog is suggesting you. Simple ways for you to extend your friends network.
If you are having problems signing into Autolog then your please step through the following checklist to help you resolve your particular issue.
1. Ensure that PSN /Xbox Live is running correctly
The status of these services can be seen here:
XboxLive!: http://support.xbox.com/en-gb/Pages/xbox-live/xbox-live-status.aspx
PSN http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/03/01/playstation-network-status-update/
Before booting the game make sure that you are signed into PSN / Xbox Live!.
2. Ensure that your console can see the internet cleanly
You should verify the following:
There is no firewall between you and the internet with all ports / IP addresses open (your router manual will help you configure any gateway between you and the internet)
That you are running your ISPs recommended settings. Having misconfigured proxies or DNS settings can cause issues with online connectivity.
On PS3
These are usually set as "automatic". Go to settings in XMB then Network Settings and then internet connection settings. These are usually configured with "easy" and all choices are usually "automatic". On PS3 you can then attempt to connect to some web sites via the XMB web browser, to ensure that your favourite sites appear correctly
Ensure that your PS3 can see http://autolog2.ea.com/ it should come back as a blank page
On X360
Go to "My Xbox", all of the way to the right to "System Settings"
Select "network"
Select wired/wirelesss, basic settings and everything is usually down as "automatic"
Ensure that a PC on your network can connect and see http://autolog1.ea.com/ it should come back as a blank page
3. Boot the game and attempt to sign in.
If you receive an error code then call EA Customer Services and have them look over your account.
If you are still having issues, and are unable to login then often power cycling your modem and router can alleviate ISP issues
Finally check your ISP service status pages to ensure that everything is clean
AUTOLOG CHALLENGES
An Autolog Challenge is a one on one battle against a friend. Pick a junction, set a score and then await the result whilst they take their turn. Your friend doesn't need to be online now to play, next time they play Burnout CRASH! the challenge will be waiting for them.
Simple, select AUTOLOG CHALLENGES from the menu, pick a friend from the SEND A CHALLENGE TAB then away you go!
You only get one go at setting or beating a challenge. If you quit the challenge or lose network connection then it will be forfeit, with the win going to the other player. You can also select to forfeit the challenge if you want from the YOUR TURN tab.
GENERAL GAMEPLAY TIPS
The traffic will swerve if it encounters a blockage. If the lane it is in is completely blocked it will most likely crash. If the lane is only partially blocked then the incoming vehicle may escape.
No, your Crashbreaker shockwave will also do damage to traffic and buildings. In fact your Crashbreaker will do more damage to buildings than a collision will.
Buildings cannot be jumped over even when destroyed, but boats and helicopters can.
Take out the Red or Gold Cars to earn big bucks. The Red Sports Cars are worth a lot, but the Gold Car is the most expensive vehicle in the game!
Buildings are more durable than vehicles. You will need to hit them more times to destroy them. When they take damage you will see a bar showing how much health they have left.
Jump down a hole to drive in again while the crash continues. This can be very useful in certain situations, but if you need to block traffic then it is not advisable!
Perform Punt Skillshots by firing traffic or dumpsters into moving vehicles.
Perform Shunt Skillshots by firing traffic or dumpsters into parked vehicles.
Perform Dunk Skillshots by firing traffic or dumpsters into holes or water.
The closer you are to a vehicle when you fire the Crashbreaker, the further it will be pushed! Also bear in mind that a vehicle will move further if it is facing in the direction you are pushing it.
When a traffic vehicle is incoming, a yellow arrow will appear on the road at the edge of the screen on the lane the traffic vehicle will be in. A green arrow denotes an incoming feature vehicle.
If a vehicle is pushed all the way out of the play area, or falls down a hole of its own accord, you will lose it and gain no further score or benefit from it.
If an explosion sets off another one, you'll earn an Explosion Chain Multiplier!
Blow up a bunch of traffic at the same time to earn a big Explosion Combo bonus!
Drive through 3 or more smashable objects in a row to earn a Smash Chain bonus!
Also some Skillshot opportunities are set up to be made the most of by accessing them from the alternate routes.
Light cars have great Aftertouch, so use them when manoeuvrability is key!
Heavy vehicles have large and powerful Crashbreakers, good for getting lots of Skillshots and hitting passing traffic!
ROAD TRIP TIPS
Use the traffic to block the intersection, and try not to use your Crashbreaker unless you have to! In Road Trip, you should only stray away from the street when it's nicely blocked up, if five traffic vehicles escape during a Road Trip event, it's game over!
Get one or more Stars in a Road Trip event to complete the event and unlock the next one! You will also need enough stars to open the toll booths!
Watch out for the Ambulance: if you let it escape it'll remove a red cross (1 escape) from your Escape Meter!
If you play especially well and don't let any traffic vehicles escape in Road Trip you will get a Bank Truck instead of an Ambulance. Destroy it and collect the money bags for loads of crash dollars!
Super Features damage everything in the level; the higher the power, the more the damage! The Super Feature will damage anything you have started to destroy, but will not earn you any combos or chain bonuses.
The fewer vehicles that escape, the more powerful the Super Feature at the end of the Road Trip!
When the intersection is nicely blocked, jump down a hole to drive in again and go for a Smash Chain bonus!
When you hear "Paging Dr. Beat", a green incoming arrow shows you where the Ambulance will appear. It will appear shortly after the first and second features in Road Trip.
The Ambulance will do its best to escape, trying to choose the clearest lane through the intersection... but you can help it out by clearing a path!
In Road Trip, uncrashed vehicles will be removed before the Super Feature hits. Try to damage all the bonus vehicles in Road Trip before the Super Feature comes, don't let any vehicles escape and try to destroy big clumps of traffic for combo scores before the Super Feature hits!
RUSH HOUR TIPS
Destroy the Pizza Truck to get a random feature from the Pizza of fortune. Pizza Trucks arrive when you've crashed enough traffic. Crash more traffic and you might get a second one!
When the timer reaches zero your car will explode setting off a chain reaction, so position yourself for a big score!
The Super Multiplier gives you triple points for everything you destroy for ten seconds so make the most of it!!
Try to start a pile up in Rush Hour before you venture away from the road to keep those traffic crashing! You could try jumping down the hole to go for scoring opportunities on the alternate routes!
PILE UP TIPS
See that x5 in the top left corner? That's the multiplier. Once the traffic has all either crashed or escaped you will be in Inferno mode. Anything you destroy will be multiplied by the number.
Try to make something burn with each Crashbreaker you fire during Inferno, if there is something on fire the timer will stop. Also the Inferno timer won't count down when you fall down a hole and drive in again, so put this to good use!
GAMEPLAY FEATURES
The Magnet feature is good for pulling Sports and Gold Cars towards you!
The Bulldozer will clear a path for other traffic and will only stop when you've damaged it enough.
The Sinkhole is a great opportunity to get the Gold Car! Push cars in for bonus points
The Gas Tanker will clear your intersection if you let it!
During the Blizzard, push traffic using your Crashbreaker for big points!
Each Taxi you crash is worth 10 times the last!
Meteors will make you drive in again if they hit you and any that hit traffic will score nothing.
If the Bad Cops hit you they will disable your Crashbreaker temporarily - Don't get busted!
You can't control when the Detonator will explode but you can control where!
Blow up the Ice Cream Truck to freeze traffic vehicles, and then smash them for big points!
You get bonus points for every traffic vehicle that explodes during the Thunderstorm!
The Good Cops will provide you with a handy road block! Because they care!
The Missile Truck's missile is like a flying Gas Tanker! Boom!
The Fog will clear a little if you fire your Crashbreaker!
Manhole Madness allows you to catapult yourself into traffic for bonus points!
Try to keep the Limousine alive as long as possible for the most money bags!
KINECT PARTY
You have 2 choices
1) Play a party as both teams, until your friends turn up
2) Play through the normal progression, when an event has loaded press X to "Play With Kinect", using the Jump Crashbreaker gesture
Whoever is standing nearest the Kinect device will take control of the game. Hold one hand out in front - moving it around you will see a hand icon, hold the hand icon over the button icons to select them.
Hold both arms out in front and steer using an imaginary steering wheel to control your vehicle
You will need to use one of 6 crashbreaker gestures when the crashbreaker bar is full, which are assigned randomly for each round:
Lay An Egg - Tuck your arms in like a bird, spread your legs then squat down
Fireball - Pump both arms out towards the Kinect, like you are throwing a fireball
Cheerleader - Pump your arms in the air like a cheerleader
Jump for Joy - Jump in the air, getting both feet off the ground. Mind the ceiling!
Kick It - Kick an imaginary ball towards the Kinect
Happy Clap - Swing both hands together, it's looking for the motion not the noise!
Move your body around in the play space to set the direction of aftertouch (movement of the car in the air after it has exploded). Moving towards the screen is up, left if left etc...
You don't, these are all assigned randomly for each round, with both teams having to play what is chosen. The winning team will go first next round, so watch them to see where the points are!
