It's 8 days (and a bit) until the Codename: Cagney update hits consoles.

8 days to Cagney

Today, we're checking out Iain A as he and the QA team square off in a fleet of Hunter Olympuses in the new Online Marked Man game mode (that's also coming with Cagney.) It's lots of metal, it's lots of mental...and yes, you can get it to barrel roll...

US PlayStation Blog

We're pleased to announce that we've made our second post on the the US PlayStation blog and in doing so, have broken some great news for PlayStation fans of Burnout Paradise.

Hop over there and check it out as we:

  • Update our US PlayStation fans on the status of the Codename: Cagney update
  • Confirm that we are indeed supporting PlayStation Trophies in a future update for Burnout Paradise
  • Show off a bunch of really cool screenshots of the Tempesta Dream and Oval Steel Racer in an Timed Challenge from Codename: Cagney

A quick summary of what we can tell you about PlayStation Trophy support in Burnout Paradise:

  • We will support PlayStation Trophies in a future update of Burnout Paradise
  • (But if won't be in Codename: Cagney update)
  • Trophies will be awarded based on your progress in your existing save game - so, when the update arrives the trophies you have earned will reflect the progress you've made in the game at that time (so you won't have to replay the game again to earn trophies)*
* We can reveal that this is why your Burnout Paradise save game has always been locked to your PlayStation Network id - so we could guarantee that when PlayStation Trophies arrived that your save game would reflect your progress.

As always, here on the blog, we will post more details when they become available.

Are you a hardcore racer who's been struggling to earn points?

Not any more!

We outlined the changes we were making to the Ranked Racing Levels on Friday 20th June.  (http://www.criteriongames.com/article.php?artID=288)

We've been working really hard to get these changes tested and ready for deployment and we're pleased to announce that tomorrow the servers will be updated to include these changes.

Apologies to those that read this post earlier today that said that these changes had already gone live, but it appears that during the server restart the changes hadn't taken. We will be taking the servers down again early tomorrow morning (UK time) and making the changes again.

We will post again once we are confident that the changes have indeed gone live.

We're currently looking at ‘Multiple Accounts’ and ‘Disconnection Rates’.

Expect an update soon!

It's 8 (...and a bit...) days to go until Codename: Cagney blazes onto your consoles with heaps of FREE game-changing content.

In addition to the new vehicles and game modes, there are a bunch of subtler changes to the existing game, designed to make the game play better. One set of such changes is to the Paradise Field Airfield - ironing out some of the bumps in the ground and removing some of the snags that could sometimes get in the way.

To commemorate this, crazystof (our competition winner who came up with the designs for the Oval Steel Racer and Carson Hippie Van - that will appear in the Codename: Cagney update) and his buddies decided to visit the airfield in black cars, to say one last goodbye to the old geometry:

If you want to know what the changes are to Paradise Field, here's Mark and Dave from the World Team to give you a quick tour:
