YoYo805: What is the best DLC car available?
Sarge: Depends
on what kind of mood you are in Soldier. If you're out for some laughs
go with the Toys, if you are looking to compete with the Burnout
Professionals, Boost Specials are the cars for you. The Sarge's
personal favourite is the Jansen P12 88 Special, it has a hover mode
and flames shoot out the back when you boost. Sarge likes flames.
Bogard07: Just got the Toy cars, are they really intended to be this tough? I slammed a bus with the toy Manhattan and didn't wreck!
Sarge: The
Toy vehicles are meant to be just like the Toys you played with as a
kid - small, indestructible and fun. The Sarge never played with toys
as a kid. He started basic survival training from birth.
GI_Prototype: Awesome as the Sarge is...he's not Chuck Norris. I wonder if Chuck Norris plays Burnout Paradise?
Sarge: The
Sarge taught Chuck Norris everything he knows in Burnout Paradise and
in life. I was freeburning with Chuck yesterday and giving him some
tips on landing a x4 barrel roll in the Jansen P12 88 Special. One day
he'll be good enough to challenge me. One day.

Sarge: Good
work Soldier. The road to mastering Stunt Run is challenging and
infinite. Some Troops out there are getting crazy scores, so send yours
in. Want a tip on how to get the big Combos? Slow down - Stunt Run is
not about speed.
Kevling: How does Burnout 2009 compare to how you thought it would evolve when you first developed it? Better? Worse? Weirder?
Sarge: Sarge
is surprised by how much our game has changed through our regular
updates - Bikes, Toys, Hovering Cars, New Freeburn Challenges,
Criterion Games Network - We've done so much and there's so much more
to come. If the Sarge had to sum it up in one word he'd say this:
"HUA!!".

It's March 17th and that can mean only one thing - St. Patrick's Day - an annual celebration of one of the Patron Saints of Ireland and of all things Irish.
To celebrate this important day the Burnout Team are now cruising the streets of Paradise City in our favourite cars - painted green of course. We hope to see you out on the black stuff - the streets of Paradise City - for what should be a day and night to remember.

That Sarge Sullivan, eh? What a hero! I heard that he once saved
his whole platoon one-handed while still maintaining his Stunt Run
combo.
And while I aspire to one day reach such giddy heights, for now I have to face the simple fact that I am The Noob.
But that got me thinking; am I the only Noob in Paradise City? Surely there must be other drivers with my ‘special' skills. Are there others out there who share my fear of the Marked Man pack? Maybe there are players who are simply too shy to call out for help.
Perhaps you bail out of barrel rolls. Or do you shy away from Stunt Runs? It's ok, really! I've been there and I want to help.
So over the next few weeks, I'm going to see what top tips I can uncover from the Burnout Team and then share them with you. I can't guarantee they'll make you a pro overnight but they might just help you up your game and set you on the road to getting your Burnout License.

The Hawker Mech is the ideal car for Freeburning online. It has Switchable Boost - it's so advanced that the entire car had to become the Boost system glowing brightly with Boost coloured neon, you can quickly choose a Boost Type to suit any situation.
Understanding Boost Types
Speed Boost is the perfect Boost Type for racing. Although you can only activate it when it's full, if you can use it all in one go the Boost Bar will refill allowing you to continue Boosting. This is called a Burnout, how many can you chain together?
Stunt Boost is ideal for linking multipliers together in Stunt Run, you can use it whenever you want and it is quickly refilled by performing a jump or spin.
Aggression Boost like Stunt Boost can be used whever you want, but this time is filled by smahing rivals off the road and knocking over props like lights, fences, and phoneboxes. If you do manage to smash a rival off the road your Aggression Boost Bar will grow giving you a bigger reservoir of Boost.
Switching Boost Tactics
On their own the three Boost Types are perfectly suited for different situations, but the Hawker Mech's ability to switch between the three types at the press of a button gives the it the edge in several events.
Speed Boost is perfect for maintaining top speed in Race Events, however if you crash or are Taken Down you'll only be able to activate Boost again after filling the Boost Bar. If you crash during a race while driving the Hawker Mech just switch to Stunt or Aggression Boost and start Boosting again to quickly get back up to speed.
During Stunt Runs everyone knows you can earn points and multipliers for landing big jumps, spins, and rolls. Less well known is the ability to earn big points by chaining Burnouts together. What this means for drivers of the Hawker Mech during a Stunt Run is that you can use your Stunt Boost to chain some multipliers together then switch to Speed Boost and combine those multipliers with lots of high scoring Burnout Chains.

The Carson Extreme Hot Rod has been hailed as the fastest vehicle in Paradise! We decided to test its credentials against the other contenders; the Nakamura Rai-Jin Turbo, the Nakamura Firehawk GP Competition, the Krieger PCPD Special, and the GT Nighthawk.
First up an acceleration test along Webster Avenue. All traffic was stopped and state of the art timing equipment setup to measure 0 to 60mph and 0 to 120mph times.

So the GT Nighthawk retains its crown as fastest accelerating vehicle in Paradise, but only just. Acceleration is great if you haven't got far to go, but if you are travelling any sort of distance then top speed is what you really need.
Next up was a sustained top speed test along Section 4 of the I-88. This section was chosen for its gradual bends and inclines; only vehicles with good traction and a high power to weight ratio would be able to maintain their top speed along this stretch. All vehicles were travelling at top speed on passing through the first toll booth.

With a time over 2 seconds faster than the closest car and only the Nakamura Firehawk GP Competition getting close, the Carson Extreme Hot Rod is proven to be the Fastest Vehicle in Paradise!
